ONLINE: Dealing with Drop

Whatever we call it, post-scene drop is frustrating, irritating, and isolating. It often makes us question -- at least in the moment -- what was otherwise an awesome scene.

What is this awful mood we fall into after a scene, and what the heck can we do about it?

In this class, Miriam Green will draw on what we know about the neuropsychology of BDSM to help us better understand drop, and build strategies for resilience when we face it. We'll talk about:

• Common misconceptions about drop
• What's really going on in the mind, brain and body
• Mind-body strategies for before, during and after the scene to help us bounce back
• How to change our narrative to avoid making drop worse
• The best ways to effectively communicate after a scene -- for good scenes and bad

You'll come away with better self-understanding and a self-care toolkit to draw on when drop comes calling. Join us!

PRESENTER:

Miriam Green has been in the public kink scene for over one dozen years in the Austin, Houston and San Francisco scenes. They teach a series of KINK 101 classes on the SF kink community, BDSM negotiations, and dating while kinky. They also are the owner of Wicked Grounds, San Francisco's first and only kink cafe & boutique.

$15 - $35 in advance. Tickets will also be available at the door at a sliding scale of $20-$40. Please pay at the level you can comfortably afford.

We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.

The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.

The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.

This class will be taught out of the Wicked Grounds Annex, and will simultaneously be offered as a live, online class through Zoom. You may choose to attend in person at the Wicked Grounds Annex in San Francisco, or online from anywhere in the world!

In SF, this class will be held in the Wicked Grounds Annex. Please note that stairs at the front door are the only means of ingress and egress to the space. Proof of COVID vaccination and masking are both required for all participants. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the class start time for check in; late check-ins may require you to have vaccination and ticketing verified next door at Wicked Grounds Cafe & Boutique before entry.

Please do not attend in person if you have any respiratory symptoms whatsoever. Anyone displaying signs of respiratory symptoms may be asked to leave, regardless of vaccination status.
