Breath play is not and will never be completely safe... but we can minimize the risk of things going wrong.
By attending this class I agree to not hold Wicked Grounds or the presenter responsible for anything I may do with the material learned here.
First, let's understand that Breath Play is one of the most dangerous forms of edgeplay in BDSM. As such, this is not a beginner class; it is a class for those who have a good basis in Risk Aware Consensual Kink. Breath play is not and will never be completely safe... but we can minimize the risk of things going wrong.
In this class, Doctor Bubbles and Kitkat Ann go into mitigating the inherent risks of Breath Play through education, preparation, and planning for emergencies. We will go into how to prep for a scene, physical factors that increase or decrease risk, how to prepare for the worst, and how to ease into breath play. Finally, Doc and Kitkat will demo a few techniques that deliver the enjoyment of breath play while also keeping risks to a minimum. We will not be covering chokes or chokeholds covered in Rough Body Play classes, but discussing how to limit oxygen flow to the bottom.
PRESENTER:
Doctor Bubbles and KitKat Ann met at Beyond Vanilla in 2018, and found a kindred spirit in each other. Since then, they have gone from playmates to close friends, and eventually established an M/s dynamic and romantic partnership together. Their dynamic is based on mutual respect and trust, self improvement, a dedication to increasing knowledge, and helping improve the world around them.
Doctor Bubbles has been active in the Central Texas community since 2015, exploring this thing we do and trying to find his place in it. He first came to the scene out of the Army, seeking the stability and structure as a submissive male. As he progressed in his journey, support from his friends, mentors, and professional therapists helped resolve some of the issues that led him to the scene, and he started exploring things from a top's perspective. In 2019, he graduated from the Austin Mentors Program, a year-long course that develops skills and techniques found in BDSM, and a deeper understanding of self and community. Currently, he is interested in not only the physical aspects of sadism, but also the mental factors as well. His passion lies in understanding the mental and emotional connection required for ethical psychological sadism. Doctor Bubbles continues to explore new facets of what it is we do (and why we do it), and hopes to share with others what he has learned.
KitKat Ann defines herself as a Kajira with a large primal streak and a masochistic little side. She became aware of kink at the tender age of 16 through the wondrous literary world of Anita Blake by Laurel K. Hamilton. This led to disappointment at the lack of non-fiction reference materials by which to learn more about this new world she had found. Through her travels, she has picked up a multitude of experiences and knowledge to better serve herself, those around her and her community. Her life’s journey has taken her through the dark, twisty paths of domestic violence, including mental, physical, and emotional trauma, as well as the lovely hills of multiamory & poly-fidelity, the hard deserts of self-discovery and self-reliance, and the peaceful meadows of good mental health. These experiences, combined with a unique mix of characteristics such as empathy, compassion, strength of will, intelligence and a more-than-a-bit of mischief, have created a person who can speak from experience about navigating the difficulties of playing in the deep end of kink and not drowning. Fear play, heavy impact play, primal play, as well as submission through service, are her areas of expertise. KitKat continues to learn, and then teach, those around her adding her personal perception in the hopes of creating more understanding, acceptance and SSC kink.
