ONLINE: Baby's First Suspension

Note: This will be a live, online class offered through Zoom. No on-site tickets will be available.

Everyone’s gotta start somewhere. When it comes to suspension, there is no better place to start than the basics. This class is designed for the tying pair who knows stable, loadbearing harnesses and is ready to do something about them. In this class, we will talk about general concerns when it comes to suspension, how to negotiate a rope scene, setting up points, and what gear is needed. Then we will learn a suspension sequence that incorporates many basic suspension skills and includes a few transitions so you can take home and practice, build off of and grow! Baby’s first suspension is a great place to start and you will walk away knowing what to do for Baby’s second suspension.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Prerequisites: non-collapsing single column ties and structural body harnesses both hips and chest harnesses required.

PRESENTERS:

Lief Bound and Icarus are young, queer, rope performance artists currently residing in Los Angeles, California. Lief Bound is a rope switch who found their love of rope six years ago in the Boston scene. Icarus is a switchy pain enthusiast who started their rope bottoming exploration six years ago and is most passionate about incorporating their career in social justice into their kink education. Lief and Icarus have had the privilege of teaching at Vox Body, Snowbound, and Tethered Together(cancelled due to COVID) as well as locally in LA. They are most passionate about using multi-media process art to share their vision with the world and push the boundaries of what defines rope.

TICKETING:

Tickets: $15 - $35 in advance. Please pay at the level you can comfortably afford.
We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.

The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.

The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.

Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $35 level allows us to make the discounted ticketing available to others who need it.
