To all the geeks out there who think a ridiculous PowerPoint deck, multiple choice poll questions, and an extensive bibliography sounds like a good time, this one's for you – part 2!
To all the geeks out there who think a ridiculous PowerPoint deck, multiple choice poll questions, and an extensive bibliography sounds like a good time, this one's for you – part 2! By popular demand, this session will cover different subject areas from the December 13th session, as well as other new content. Extreme science nerd Shay will provide a broad overview of some favorite kink-related (or kink-applicable, or even just too damned interesting to leave out) studies and geeky tidbits, and relate these to a broad array of BDSM topics. Specific subject areas will include the science of meeting people, sexy times (disgust, hedonic adaptation, recency effect, and more), vagus nerve, breath control (not a how-to, physiological background only), fire play, breaking skin, and vector forces. We'll examine questions as basic as "why are we into this kinky stuff, anyway," and as specific as "what is the best skin cleaning agent," “physiologically, what is the difference between smothering and strangulation (and why does it matter),” and "what effects does desire have on disgust, and vice versa?" For science!
Note: If you attended the Dec 13th class, this will be 95% new content. This class also stands alone, and attendance at the prior class is not required in any way.
Content warning: Among other content areas, this class includes a discussion of breath control, from a risk awareness (not how-to or instructional) perspective.

Tickets: $15 - $35 in advance. Please pay at the level you can comfortably afford.
We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.
The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.
The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.
Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $35 level allows us to make the discounted ticketing available to others who need it.
So - that's it! Choose the level you can comfortably afford.
If cost is a barrier at any point on the sliding scale, please use the Volunteer List at the bottom of the listing to request a scholarship seat.
