Conversations about sex, bodies, and relationships can be challenging for many parents and caregivers to have with their kids. How do you convey healthy messages about sexuality that are accurate, empowering, and affirm diversity? What are some resources that can help you feel more confident and comfortable as a primary sexuality educator of your kid(s)? Join Lucky and Hudson from the Tool Shed as we discuss how to talk about sex in age-appropriate and positive ways. We'll also provide resource suggestions for parents and caregivers of kids of all ages, from birth through adolescence.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Hudson (he/him) is an AASECT-Certified Sexuality Educator who began doing grassroots organizing and community-based peer education in the early 1990s. He is the general manager of The Tool Shed, a mission-driven, education-focused sexuality boutique located in Milwaukee, WI and an all-levels trainer for the Our Whole Lives lifespan sexuality education curricula (spanning from K-1 through older adult learners). Hudson has completed the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate Program in Sexuality Education.
Lucky Tomaszek, LM, CPM (she/her), is a community midwife, sexuality educator, and writer living in Milwaukee, WI. Lucky is the sole practitioner at Transitions: Birth Services for Every Body and a sexuality educator at The Tool Shed: An Erotic Boutique. She also wrote the semi-monthly column, MKE SEX at MilwaukeeRecord.com, and has contributed to Madison Young’s, “The Ultimate Guide to Sex Through Pregnancy and Motherhood.”
