Get ready to turn pages and spark meaningful conversations at SuciaREAD Book Club! This is a space for Black queer individuals to come together, celebrate our identities, and explore literature that reflects our diverse experiences.
You’re Invited to Sucia Book Club!
We are excited to announce our next meeting of the Sucia Book Club, where we celebrate literature that speaks to our experiences and identities. Join us as we dive into The Illusion of Power by JL Seegers.
Book Bio:
A spicy, contemporary romance that follows future First Lady, Selene Taylor, during the integral months of her husband's campaign for the Oval where she finds herself navigating the embarrassment of his infidelity, the dangers of being a Black woman in proximity to political power, and perhaps worst of all, falling for the two men tasked with protecting her.
Some things to note:
We love SuciaREAD book club so much and want to keep it going as long as you want to keep coming. Currently we are at a deficit with the SuciaREAD budget. Meaning... we are spending more money than we are making!
We want to ensure the sustainability of SuciaREAD and its future potential expansion but we need your help!
Do you love SuciaREAD?
Do you look forward to it every month as much as we do?
With a couple extra dollars a month we can keep this going into another year! We have created a sliding scale so that at your discretion you have the opportunity to choose how much you want to give towards SuciaREAD month to month. As always we will find you the best prices for our book picks every month and find free versions when available! We will also have upcoming opportunities for book club specific discounts from certain book stores! With this small bump in ticket prices we can break even with book club's costs and start providing even more at our meetups to make it that much more community forward. Thank you for reading, thank you for coming back and thank you for continuing to invest in catered spaces for QTBIPOC!

Bluestockings is NYC's only cooperatively owned trans, queer and sex worker run feminist bookstore.
What to Expect:

This is an opportunity to bond over shared experiences, celebrate our identities, and foster a sense of community within our Sucia family.
We can’t wait to read, reflect, and revel in the joy of literature together. Let’s come together to honor our stories and empower one another through the transformative power of reading!
Much love,
