Shibari isn't just physically binding the body; it's a journey into intimacy and power dynamics. While being tied up physically takes away our power on a superficial level, what about the emotional and mental aspects? What does surrender in rope looks like to you, and how can we find that space? As rope bottoms, how can we influence our experience in scene, and how can Riggers create a safer space and guide their bottom toward surrender?

This month at IN-Tension, we're inviting you to join our discussion and share your thoughts: What bring you into the headspace as a rope bottom? And as a Rigger, how do you create a rope scene where bottoms can relax, embrace vulnerability, and fully immerse themselves in rope?

Your insight and experience are very appreciated! Share your knowledge with our fellow ropemates! We'll also have a little something for those who're sharing w/ the class 😉

A peer-sharing & play-focused rope jam.

Join us for the monthly Hayward Rope Jam! We'll start with a peer-sharing session, followed by dedicated playtime for you to explore and experiment with your partners and friends.

Each month, we'll provide a thought-provoking topic to stimulate your curiosity. Feel free to bring your experience and skills to share, regardless of your role in the dynamic.

We have plenty of space and secure points for you to engage in tying, playing, and creating experiences together. Participation in the peer-based skill share panel is optional, so you can simply enjoy tying and playing if you prefer.

Please be aware that this is a 21+ event. During the social hour, we'll have an open bar serving alcoholic drinks. You must be 21 years old or older to attend.

What do we have here?

An open space with lighting, mats, snacks & drinks for you to tie, play, and socialize with your fellow rope mates.

We will also bring a few mattresses for us to practice & play on for this month's In-Tension.

Bar opens at 5pm, please drink and play responsibly.

What should you bring?

You, your rope, and all the other things that would brighten your rope scene! We encourage you to explore play beyond JUST ROPE. You should also pack for aftercare: stuffies, blankets, fancy chocolate etc.

Bring your personal massager or pillows for some hands-on exercise!

General Rules

Any violation of the rules might result in a hard ban from our future events. We might also share the incident report to other kink groups, especially in case of severe consent violations.

1. Age Restriction: 21+ event. Open bar available for guests who are 21 years old or older. (Donation-based)

2. Consent matters. Ask for explicit consent before engaging in any activities with others. Always ask before touching, that goes for people and their belongings. When in doubt, always ask first. Only an enthusiastic YES is a yes. If the other person seems hesitant or doubtful, please take that as a “no.” and don’t ask again.

3. Communicate Risks. Clearly discuss potential play risks.

4. Inclusivity is vital. Create a safe space free from hate speech. Welcome all roles, gender, ethnicity, orientation, religion, experience, and experiences.

5. Respect others’ scenes & space. Avoid interrupting scenes and approach the Top discreetly if necessary.

6. Cleanliness. Clean up after yourself and respect the venue. It is hard to find kink-friendly space, and we hope this will be an on-going event.

7. Preserve the Venue. No vandalism or access to restricted areas.

8. Do not share details or the location of the venue with non-attendees. Keep event details and venue location private. Direct inquiries to @Nocturnal_Events.

9. Dress vanilla outside of the event area. Be discreet. If you wish to step outside, please at least wear a big coat over your kink wear.

10. Play responsibly. You may get an alcoholic drink(s) during social hours. The Bartender will cut off the waistband for people who ordered alcoholic drinks. Please drink and play responsibly, and make sure everyone involved is aware of your status and consent to it.

11. Nudity is okay, but no penetrative & oral sex. Penetrative & oral sex is not allowed for any gender/orientation (including fingering). Please limit your sensual play on genitals to foreplay only: touching, tying, vibrating, rubbing, slapping, etc. Always put down a mat under your play area if you are planning to be fully naked.

12. Playing outside of rope. You are welcome to add other kinky elements to your rope scenes 😏

13. No Glitter.

14. The Hosts are here to help, but not here to parent you.

If someone is making you uncomfortable, go to the Host, or ask your friend to accompany you to do so. We are here to help.

While we strive to create a safer space, we cannot oversee everything. Use your own judgment when vetting play partners, seek references, ask questions, and trust your instincts if something feels off.

Covid Stuff

1. Vaccinated is a must. We will check ID & Vac card at the door.

2. Mask is recommended, but not required.

3. If you feel sick, stay home.
