Aftercare & Debriefing — Dynamics Seminar

Power Exchange Relationship Discussion Group. Topic of the week: Aftercare & Debriefing

Description

Let's Talk About Aftercare & Debriefing

Most of you may already be familiar with Aftercare & Debriefing in the realm of BDSM, but how does it manifest in a long-term D/s relationship? How can we make it engaging and meaningful rather than a mere routine formality? What are the right questions to ask? And how can we create a secure space for expressing our thoughts?

We will be covering topics including (but not limited to):

  • Aftercare routines and rituals
  • Debriefing in causal play vs long-term D/s relationship
  • The power of small changes
  • Active Listening and validation
  • Building your phrase-library: The art of acknowledgment and validation

All experience levels are welcome.

We aim to foster a peer-sharing environment where new kinksters could learn from those with more experience. (Or the other way around, you'd never know!)

This is a FREE event. Please purchase drinks or food to support the venue.

While donations to our group are optional, they are recommended and greatly appreciated. All contributions go towards compensating the facilitator.

Yourself and your open mind! You should also bring a pen and notebook to write down all the ideas you come across.

Rules & Guideline

  1. Respect the speaker. Give them your undivided attention. Do not talk over others.
  2. Let’s try to all contribute to the conversation. At least give a short input, or… “I don’t have an opinion on this yet” Keep your answer <1-2 mins long.
  3. If talking about potentially triggering topics please ask consent from the group before telling the story. (Ex. Abuse, Self Harm, Etc.)
  4. Respect that others will have differing opinions. Respect their right to express their thoughts. Stay curious and ask questions: Don’t try to convince them to change; instead, try to understand why they believe that.
  5. “Let’s agree to disagree.” A phase to use when you would like to stop discussing this topic. If someone said that, please respect that and move on.
  6. Safety Signals: Covering your name tag.
