Want to deepen your dynamic and your rope game? This class invites you to weave power, intention, and connection into every knot. Whether you're here for passion or presence, rope can be a powerful tool in your D/s toolbox. We'll move through a series of mini demos exploring different styles of power exchange in rope: dominant-led, service-forward, bratty, devotional, and more. After each, you'll be invited to tie (or be tied) with that intention in mind. It's less about perfect technique and more about embodied energy, awareness, and how rope can amplify your dynamic.
Shibari is an artform that has gained major popularity in recent years. It is a wonderful way to connect with yourself and/or your partner. From the meditative and relaxing process of building patterns and structure with rope, to the sensory grounding experience of focusing on the texture of the rope, and the many somatic health benefits of simply being held by the rope - the content of this class will increase your tool kit to explore those spaces, and connect with partners.
You must already know how to tie a single column tie. We will not be teaching it in this class.
Skyla is a rope educator and co-producer of Tethered Together, where she helps cultivate spaces for learning, creativity, and connection within the rope and kink community. Her teaching focuses on rope handling, intentional power exchange, and the subtle ways rope can deepen dynamic and presence between partners. Rather than emphasizing complex patterns, Skyla encourages students to build confidence with the rope in their hands—developing the tension, movement, and awareness that make scenes feel fluid and alive. Known for blending practical technique with thoughtful exploration of D/s dynamics, her classes invite participants to approach rope with curiosity, intention, and a willingness to play.
