Intermediate Latex (1/3): Pattern Making

Part of feeling fabulous in latex is knowing that it fits properly. Most store-bought sewing patterns are simply not made for latex. In this class, you'll learn how to make a custom "block" or pattern that is custom-fit to your body's exact shape. You can use this block for a variety of projects, but in this class we will be making either a pencil dress or sleeveless shirt (your choice).

This class is beginner friendly, but is best suited for someone with some crafting experience (especially if you took our previous, beginner latex design class!)

Whether you’re curious about latex fashion, interested in garment craftsmanship, or simply looking to make something delightfully shiny, this class offers a welcoming and creative environment to learn, experiment, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

We are capping this class at 10 people instead of the usual 14.
This is the 1st class out of 3 total classes.

Inside This Class We’ll Cover:

• Understanding the basic principles of pattern making
• The foundation of draping techniques as they are used in real fashion design ateliers
• How to take a 3-dimensional body and transfer it to 2D on paper
• Understanding how curvature and princess seams function to create a proper fit
• Opportunities to connect with other latex lovers, makers, and shiny-thing enthusiasts in a fun, welcoming atmosphere

• It is required that all of our events have something to do with relationship education. Therefore, this class will feature a segment on networking tips within the latex fashion community, and some fun scene ideas that you can do with latex!

Who can take this class?

• Anybody over the age of 18
• Any gender
• Dominants, submissives, tops, bottoms, anybody!
• Both monogamous people, poly people, curious, swinger, etc. anybody!
• You can come alone or with a partner, or several, or friends, etc.
• You do NOT have to be a member to take this class :) Anybody can attend

What to Bring;

• Spill proof water bottle
• Notebook and writing utensil
• Please bring a body suit or other fitted top to wear during the draping and pinning portion of this class.
  You might want to bring a poster tube or architectural drawing tube to carry your finished pattern home in. You can also fold it and store it that way.
• All other materials are provided (muslin draping fabric, pins, markers, scissors, pattern paper, etc)

About the instructor:

Princess Raven is the owner of Feather & Flame, and has over a decade of experience as a Professional Dominant, and 5 years experience as a dating and relationship coach specializing in alternative relationship dynamics.

She graduated from the fashion program at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2025, and focuses on sustainable, alternative fashion with her brand, MOONFAEZ Designs.

She enjoys making kink more accessible through education and events. She enjoys helping people get connected and giving them the tools and confidence to take the next step in their kink journey. Raven loves sharing her skill sets to help empower people to live healthy, sensual, happy lives!

• 48 hrs - use Forbidden Tickets to get your refund (the ticketing platform that you purchased your ticket through)
• Please do not come if you are sick. Even if it’s “not Covid, just a small cold.” We are happy to roll your ticket over to a different class if you are sick

About Feather & Flame

We are a new studio located in Burlington, MA that opened in fall of 2025. We offer classes and social events for the BDSM and alternative relationship community.

Our exact address is sent out to ticket holders about 2 days before your class; this is for safety and security reasons.

Parking: We have plenty of free parking in our lot!

Accessibility: there is a flight of stairs to our unit, and our bathrooms are not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, unfortunately. Service dogs are of course welcome, but we do request a heads-up please. If there are any other reasonable accommodations that we can make for you, please reach out!

Financial Accessibility: If you would like to help us out with set up and breakdown for the class, we are happy to offer you a discounted ticket! Simply select "volunteer ticket" at checkout.

Privacy: For all in-person events, we require to check everyone's ID and everyone must sign a liability waiver for each class. This is standard at most facilities and ensures the safety of our community. If you are unwilling to unable to comply with either of these, then unfortunately our events are not a good fit for you!

• ID's are checked in person, upon arrival, and are not scanned, photographed, or kept on file in any way. Just like walking into a bar. Your ID cannot be expired, and we need the real thing - a photo of an ID is not legally acceptable ID.
• Raven is typically the person who is checking IDs, and if it is another staff member - they have signed an NDA as part of working at our facility, which lasts for many years after finishing working with F&F. We only hire staff who respect privacy and discretion.
• Liability waivers are emailed in advance so that you can review it, and is facilitated by a trusted, 3rd party software that is used by several large-scale kink conventions.
