Intro to Flameless Wax

Inside This Class We’ll Cover:

• How to get that sweet sensual wax play without the liability of an open flame
• Safety skills
• Paraffin vs Soy wax, and how to mix them in order to achieve your ideal experience
• What type of equipment you'll need and how to use it
• Techniques for how to actually use it during play
• Application and removal techniques

Who can take this class?

• Anybody over the age of 18
• Any gender
• Both monogamous people, poly people, curious, swinger, etc. anybody!
• You can come alone or with a partner, or several, or friends, etc. If you are looking for a partner, we do not provide you one. You need to bring your own.
• You do NOT have to be a member of Feather & Flame (previously Black Bird) to take this class :) Anybody can buy a ticket

Class schedule:

5:30-6p Check in
6-7p Lecture and demo
7-8p Hands on exercises

What to Bring:

• A notebook and pen/ pencil
• All wax play equipment is provided as part of your ticket. If you'd like to purchase a kit to take home, they will be available for purchase after the class.
• Water, tea, and pastries will be provided

What to Wear:

Part of this class is hands-on exercises - trying the wax on parts of your or your partner's body. Nudity is prohibited in this class. We recommend comfy athletic clothing, such as shorts and t-shirt/ tank top. You are not required to do any of the guided exercises - consent is everything. Guided exercises are an invitation, not a requirement.

About the Instructor - Riven

Riven (she/her) is the cofounder of goBOUNDLESS, an educational series which hosts classes, munches, events, and a multiday day camp in MA. This project was born from her strong passion for the safety and education of her community.
Riven has been in the kink and education fields for over 15 years, attending events, classes, seminars, and conferences for education and kink for just under a decade before attending as an educator. She also hosts private house parties, as well as moderates other organizations' spaces.

About Feather & Flame (previously Black Bird)

We are a new studio located in Burlington, MA. We offer classes for the alternative relationship community. We are committed to education, empowerment, and authentic connection.

Our exact address is sent out to ticket holders about 2 days before your class; this is for safety and security reasons.

Parking: We have plenty of free parking in our lot!

Accessibility: There is a flight of stairs to our unit, and our bathrooms are not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, unfortunately. Service dogs are of course welcome, but we do request a heads-up please. If there are any other reasonable accommodations that we can make for you, please reach out!

Financial Accessibility: If you would like to help us out with set up and breakdown for the class, we are happy to offer you a discounted ticket! Simply select "volunteer ticket" at checkout.

Privacy: For all in-person events, we require to check everyone's ID and everyone must sign a liability waiver for each class. This is standard at most facilities and ensures the safety of our community. If you are unwilling to unable to comply with either of these, then unfortunately our events are not a good fit for you!

• ID's are checked in person, upon arrival, and are not scanned, photographed, or kept on file in any way. Just like walking into a bar. Your ID cannot be expired, and we need the real thing - a photo of an ID is not legally acceptable ID.
• Raven is typically the person who is checking IDs, and if it another staff member - they have signed an NDA as part of working at our facility, which lasts for many years after finishing working with F&F. We only hire staff who respect privacy and discretion.
• Liability waivers are emailed in advance so that you can review it, and is facilitated by a trusted, 3rd party software that is used by several large-scale kink conventions.
