Celebrate Pride in a more intimate, creative setting at Feather & Flame with an afternoon of colorful rope, wearable art, and self-expression!
In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll explore the beauty of shibari as fashion while learning several decorative ties including a heart-shaped chest harness, decorative leg tie, and striking full-body design (looks great over a maxi dress). Whether you’re brand new to rope or looking to expand your decorative tying skills, this class focuses on creativity, connection, and celebrating identity through art. Co-taught by Raven and Goddess Lazarus, you’ll benefit from two instructors offering hands-on guidance throughout the workshop.
We’ll also have a photo area with a cellphone tripod set up so you can capture your stunning rope creations and Pride looks. Pride attire is warmly encouraged, but never required — come as you are and celebrate with us!
Shibari is an artform that has gained major popularity in recent years. It is a wonderful way to connect with yourself and/or your partner. From the meditative and relaxing process of building patterns and structure with rope, to the sensory grounding experience of focusing on the texture of the rope, and the many somatic health benefits of simply being held by the rope - the content of this class will increase your tool kit to explore those spaces, and connect with partners.
For this specific class, we're doing 90 min of social time/ practice time afterwards! From 6p-7:30p. Attendance is optional, but encouraged! :)
Princess_Raven has been a Pro Domme and BDSM instructor for 10 years, and recently opened Feather & Flame (previously Black Bird Atelier) in Burlington, MA - an education center focusing on alternative relationships. She works full time as a Professional Dominant, BDSM educator, and relationship coach, where she helps people connect both with others and within themselves. Raven loves sharing her skill sets to help empower people to live healthy, sensual, happy lives!
Goddess Lazarus is a queer, Boston-based foot fetishist, femdom, and rope top with 13 years of teaching experience. She especially likes high-femme hijinks and dynamic suspensions. As an engineer, she comes to rope work and suspension from a technical point of view. When she isn’t spending time with her partners, she’s usually making colorful costumes, art, and things for space.
We are a new studio located in Burlington, MA that opened in fall of 2025. We offer classes and social events for the BDSM and alternative relationship community.
Our exact address is sent out to ticket holders about 2 days before your class; this is for safety and security reasons.
Parking: We have plenty of free parking in our lot!
Accessibility: there is a flight of stairs to our unit, and our bathrooms are not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, unfortunately. Service dogs are of course welcome, but we do request a heads-up please. If there are any other reasonable accommodations that we can make for you, please reach out!
Financial Accessibility: If you would like to help us out with set up and breakdown for the class, we are happy to offer you a discounted ticket! Simply select "volunteer ticket" at checkout.
Privacy: For all in-person events, we require to check everyone's ID and everyone must sign a liability waiver for each class. This is standard at most facilities and ensures the safety of our community. If you are unwilling to unable to comply with either of these, then unfortunately our events are not a good fit for you!
