Intro to Electro Play

Violet wands, TENS units, and more!

Demystify the buzz!

Description

Hosted by Black Bird Atelier - Burlington, MA newest kink education studio

Electroplay has become increasingly trendy in recent years, with tools like violet wands, cattle prods, stun guns, TENS units, and other electrostimulation devices popping up across play spaces. But with growing popularity comes the need for real education and safety awareness. Electroplay 101 is a beginner-friendly class designed to demystify the buzz and provide clear, practical guidance on how these tools work, how to use them responsibly, and how to minimize risk. Attendees will gain knowledge, communication strategies, and essential safety skills so they can explore confidently, consensually, and safely—whether they’re simply curious or ready to expand their repertoire.

Inside This Class We’ll Cover:

  • Electricity Basics: A brief comparison of voltage and amps in each tool.
  • Safety First: Essential safety guidelines and medical implications for handling electricity and proper equipment use.
  • Electro Play Tools: An introduction to common electro play tools and attachments. We will discuss their functions, safety considerations, and how to use them responsibly.
  • Practical Exploration: Basic exploration of different sensations and intensities of electric stimulation the tools can produce, and how these tools might be incorporated into a scene.
