Small but Mighty: Microbondage for Fingers, Toes, & Faces w/ Hitchin Kitten
Tiny tidbits can have a big impact! This class explores how rope can be applied to smaller appendages like our fingers, toes, and facial features for predicaments, sensation play, sensory deprivation, and more. We will discuss negotiation tips, as well as risk mitigation for both solo and partnered adventures in microbondage. Note: This class may engage with salvia.
Prerequisites and Considerations
- For everyone: determine your comfort for contact with saliva and your rope being exposed to that fluid
- For folks tying: Knowledge of a larks/head and reserve tension, as well as a single column tie, will be needed for this class. Tactile sensitivity is needed for moving small body parts and joints with care, and monitoring circulation indicators.
- For folks receiving rope: Knowledge of your body's range of motion and stability in small appendages. Determine and communicate your risk profile for circulation loss, joint manipulation, and sensory deprivation.
Materials:
- 6mm rope and 2-4 mm rope (ex. paracord, twine without jute batch oil) are both useful for this class. 10-15 ft lengths work best, however 25-30 ft lengths are fine.
- A cloth blindfold to protect eyes from rope
- A barrier between you and the floor
- Gloves or other barriers useful to you for saliva contact
- Face Mask
For folks receiving rope: Knowledge of your body's range of motion and stability in small appendages. Determine and communicate your risk profile for circulation loss, joint manipulation, and sensory deprivation.
About Hitchin Kitten
@HitchinKitten (she/they/it) is a kitten-ish rope witch and sadomasochistic switch that likes her kink to be whimsically delicious. Her kink is connection, and rope is the path she takes to get there. Her approach to rope focuses on foundational concepts and functionality to encourage accessible, connective, and collaborative improvisation in rope practice and beyond. HK is also the facilitator of Hitchin’ Bitches PDX (Portland, Or), and provides classes, tastings, and programming support at events
COVID Policy
We are asking attendees to please take a photo of the rapid test taken 4 hours prior to the event. Any attendee with a positive COVID test will be refunded 90% of the ticket cost (10% remaining helps cover the ticket processing fee).

Jamie is the executive director of Sex Positive Portland; she has been hosting speed dating since 2019. She is polyamorous, queer, and kinky, with a love of shibari/rope bondage. She leads discussion groups and classes on relationships of all sizes, orientations, and dynamics. Lady Vivus
Lady Vivus (she/her) is a spiritually & culturally driven bootblack, Switchinatrix, & a leather cow. She's an out, proud, & fierce-as-fire transwoman. At a young age, she became a believer the first time she saw Arnold Schwarzenegger’s tight ass in leather pants while watching Terminator 2. Since then, Vivus has found a spiritual outlet through leather that's driven her love of bootblacking & leather care to new heights. While hailing from Detroit, Michigan, she has settled in Salem, Oregon, where she serves as the majordomo for her leather family, the Atomic Army.
In her previous 9-5, Vivus assisted in running one of the few behavior services agencies in the world dedicated to supporting folx displaying sexually maladaptive behaviors. During that time working in the field of social sexuality, she was grateful to be able to author sex & gender positive curriculum, as well as curriculum around healthy relationship development.
She hopes to inspire others to enjoy sexuality & dynamics from an authentic place, as well as helping folx their spiritual place with leather & be able to find healing within it as well. Her love of community, education, & sharing ideas with other sex-positive folx is insatiable. Vivus also serves as the lead organizer for the Salem Munch, as well as the Willamette Valley Shine On chapter.
