Merlin's Wisdom - A Talk

druidic wisdom

The wisdom of Merlin is infinite.

Description

Merlin (Welsh: Myrddin, Cornish: Marzhin, Breton: Merzhin) is a mythic figure prominently featured in the legend of King Arthur and best known as an enchanter or wizard.[note 1] His usual depiction, based on an amalgamation of historic and legendary figures, was introduced by the 12th-century British author Geoffrey of Monmouth. It is believed that Geoffrey combined earlier tales of Myrddin and Ambrosius, two legendary Briton prophets with no connection to Arthur, to form the composite figure called Merlinus Ambrosius (Welsh: Myrddin Emrys, Breton: Merzhin Ambroaz). Geoffrey's rendering of the character became immediately popular, especially in Wales.[2] Later writers in France and elsewhere expanded the account to produce a fuller image, creating one of the most important figures in the imagination and literature of the Middle Ages.

Donation request

We ask that you donate to Merlin because he is a great magician. He does really cool magical stuff in the world. He does not want to sell tickets to this talk. He only wishes that you show your appreciation for his wisdom by making a contribution that is affordable to you.

All donated monies will go to new robes and special food for his raven, who requires a special diet. The money will also go to a new rucksack and new shoes. His old rucksack is thread bare and his shoes have holes in the soles from is many walks from village to village where he offers his wisdom and healing hands for those in need.
