CUFF Monthly Meeting - Perspectives in Rope Bondage: Intro to Fundamentals

Join us for a beginner chat covering basic concepts to help inform your rope journey!

Description

Our presenters will include viewpoints from all sides of the rope to make the language and information inclusive to receiving, giving, self-tying, and being a thoughtful observer - we’re looking at you Insta-rope! We’ll cover risk, vetting, negotiation, and resources. We’ll discuss what it means to be an active participant in your own consent with some demos and examples of skills that can be overlooked when you begin to practice. We look forward to seeing you there and encourage you to bring questions and comments!

Presenter Bios:

@Coddiwompler- started learning rope and attending bites regularly two years ago. They found self-tying was not only great for practice and solo-play, but also a way to experience sensations and risks firsthand before applying it to others. Coddi likes to attend rope cons, has taken Rope Study courses, and currently helps out on the RVA Rope Board. They love to chat about how to give and receive rope with care and how different that might look for each of us.

@plaited: I've had numerous years tying ropes, and 3 years of tying people in ropes. For me, kink is a spiritual and psychological journey of growth. My real "kink" is the intimacy and connection that happens during rope play.

@titlessropewitch, AKA "Mouse," is a rope switch that got her start self tying 'circus rope' in 2015. She first discovered her love for the Japanese style of Kinbaku and torture rope in 2016 and commuted to the DMV to model as a rope bottom for many years. Since being involved with CUFF, Mouse has invested many hours learning from educators as a top. Over the past 2 years, she has pursued a variety of local opportunities to deepen her knowledge of rope safety from all sides of the rope. Mouse is most passionate about Bottom advocacy and safety in the hopes of everyone being in ropes for as many years as they want and in any way they need.
