February 2024 Buffalo Rope Dojo
An educational workshop on rope bondage (shibari). The agenda includes hands-on work with tying, safety guidelines, and discussions on consent, negotiation, and scene dynamics.
You must be vetted to receive a link to purchase tickets. Vetting can be done at the Buffalo Rope Community Munch or via video interview on the Buffalo Rope Dojo Discord server.
Partners are not required for this event (you can practice tying on your own and participating in discussion is optional). All activities at the workshop are done fully clothed, with negotiation and consent. This event is suitable for people that are brand new to kink and BDSM, and people who are experienced. There are opportunities for Q&A and orientation on the Discord server prior to the event. Experienced people are welcome to share their knowledge or practice on their own in the beautiful space. BDSM scenes are not allowed.

Instructor
Lex has 10 years of experience as a public BDSM player and volunteer, mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began practicing suspension rope bondage in 2010. He was a frequent demo top at events held by the SF Citadel, and the Society of Janus, and was one of the founding members of the BGG Association.
He studied rope bondage and erotic dominance under Topologist, Midori, and Mme. Cleo Dubois. He was the host of the SF Fetish Munch (BDSM social) for 8 years and now hosts the Buffalo Rope Community Munch. He is a current member of the Rochester Kink Society.
His pedagogy is based on creating hands-on learning experiences coupled with safety awareness and the development of informed consent. His play style is intimate and intense and combines rope bondage with D/s and other SM Arts.
Guest Presenters
The dojo is seeking guest presenters for future events. In particular, we are looking for those with extensive experience as a rope bottom, or those with medical expertise.
