July Rope Jam

Beach Balls & Bikinis!

Come celebrate summer with us (while it's here) with a beach-themed rope jam! Beachwear/bathing suits are encouraged but not required - dress however you're comfortable!

Description

There will not be a class or discussion tonight, but rather a fun-filled evening to socialize and play! We'll play music and if you want to bring snacks to share, you're welcome to (please do not bring anything with peanuts). Scenes and non-rope play are allowed (please see our group rules for more information).

We will have multiple suspension points available. If you are planning to do partial or full suspension, you must be vetted by either Jack or Cait. Please reach out to them to discuss this - you can email Cait at cait@boxtiestudio.org, reach out to them on FetLife at @Griffin207 or @ropespaced, or message them on Instagram at @griffin_ties or @rope.spaced.

We will not be teaching any skills at this event. If you'd like to attend but don't know how to tie, you're welcome to watch or engage in another type of play.

We are implementing a maximum capacity of 24 attendees due to limited space, so if you want to come, you should quickly reserve your tickets online! Also, if you want to avoid Forbidden Tickets's fees, you can select the registration-only ticket and pay an alternate way. We accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards, PayPal (@BoxTieStudio), Venmo (@boxtiestudio), and Cashapp ($ropespaced). If you pay one of these ways ahead of time (not at the door), please indicate which order it's for (the email address on your order works).

Some notes for the group:

  1. Please review our group rules. Attending the jam constitutes your agreement to follow the rules. If you aren't willing to do that, please don't attend. You can also print our Liability Waiver and Code of Conduct Agreement from the same page to speed up the check-in process. If you don't print them ahead of time, we'll have you sign them at the door.
  2. "Our pricing is on a sliding scale, a system developed to fight against economic injustice and widen access to education and other events to build community. Please pay according to your available resources" (wording borrowed/slightly changed from the Boston Rope Collective, with their permission). If the ticket cost is a little out of your budget even at the lowest tier, please reach out to us and we can work something out.
  3. Bring a blanket or yoga mat to sit or tie on, if desired, as well as water, rope, and safety gear. There are only a few chairs.
  4. Vanilla-ish to the door. Inside, genitals/anuses must be covered. We encourage you to dress however you'd like otherwise! Summer-themed clothing and beachwear are encouraged but not required! Fetish gear is welcome.
  5. You can come alone or with a partner, but we won't match up single attendees for you. You can partner/group yourselves up if desired.
  6. All attendees are required to be vaccinated against COVID, and WE WILL CHECK YOUR ID AND PROOF OF VACCINATION AT THE DOOR. If you can't be vaccinated for legitimate reasons, please reach out to us beforehand. If you'd like, you can send pictures of your ID and vax information to Cait at cait@boxtiestudio.org.
  7. We will have loaner rope available to borrow if you don't own any.
  8. Please don't attend if you're feeling ill or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 (review symptoms here). We don't care what the CDC is now saying regarding isolation: if you test positive for COVID within 5 days of this event, have a known exposure, or are feeling ill, please do not attend.
  9. Doors open at 6:30. Please arrive early to get through the check-in process and get set up so that we can start promptly at 7:00. Please do not start tying or playing before 7. If you know you're going to be late, text Cait at (207) 558-2930. If you arrive and the door is locked, please ring the doorbell.
  10. There is plenty of parking. When you turn onto Ingersoll Drive, the parking lot is the first left, and we are the first building on the left. We are the second-floor end unit; you'll see large windows and skylights from outside. Please text Cait at (207) 558-2930 if you have trouble finding us.
  11. No smoking indoors.
  12. No guns or weapons allowed on the premises.
  13. Use of drugs and/or alcohol is not allowed. If you are suspected to be under the influence, you will be ejected from the event without a refund.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us at info@boxtiestudio.org! You can also message @ropespaced (Cait) or @Griffin207 (Griffin) on FetLife. Otherwise, we hope to see you there!
