Very Hot Partials

Saturday, 8/16/25 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
There will be a ~45 min. lunch break

• Description: Yep, you guessed it. This is a whole class of very hot, super sexy, downright steamy partial suspensions. Get ready for some thigh spreading, booty lifting, crotch roping, and perhaps drool inducing shapes, all in close proximity to the floor.
• Rigger prerequisites: Any single and double column tie, basic frictions, some experience building suspendable harnesses, ability to build and manage multiple uplines in static suspension, confident in rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope.
• Bottom prerequisites: Confident in-rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope, confident ability to monitor and communicate signs of nerve compression.
• Format: 3 hours.
• Supplies: A full suspension kit and preferred rigging gear.

“FLoOr tIeS ArE eAsY” A Class of Definitely Not easy Floor Ties**

• Description: An exploration of choosing the hard route. With complicated patterns and challenging positions, this class serves as a reminder to both tops and bottoms that you don't need uplines to make rope hard.
• Rigger prerequisites: Any single and double column tie, basic frictions, some experience building complex structures, confident in rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope.
• Bottom prerequisites: Confident in-rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope.
• Format: 3 hours.
• Supplies: At least 6 pieces of rope and a cutting tool.

Can I Be Mean for a Second? Simple Predicaments and Sadistic Floor Ties

• Description: This class explores simple but sadistic floor-based predicaments of varying intensity, as well as several tips and tricks for how to cause (consensual) distress with our favorite medium, rope. Whether you’ve just tied your first single column or are a seasoned rigger, these “quick and dirty” predicaments are just that–quick, simple, and sure to have your bottom sweating in seconds.
• Prerequisites: Any single column tie.
• Format: 3 hours.
• Supplies: Four bundles of rope, a blindfold, and a cutting tool.

Presenter Bio

In March of 2018 Sydona found her way into the NYC kink scene and never looked back. Since then, she's immersed herself into honing her rope practice, perhaps obsessively. She currently works full time as a nightlife performer, bondage artist, photographer, and creator. In these past several years she's traveled both within the U.S. and internationally for rope opportunities, as a performer, as a student, and more recently as an educator. Previous to 2020, Syd trained and worked as a professional modern and contemporary dancer, and is proud of the way she melds her thirteen odd years of experience as a movement artist into her current practice.

In the past six years she's performed at events (in no particular order) by House of Yes, House of X, House of Gemini and Scorpio, HAVEN, The Red Pavilion, The Box, Hit Me Up, Nuit Des Cordes, Folsom Street Fair, Dances of Vice and The Secret. In 2019 she co-built two 300 square foot installations at Industria and at Knockdown Center for events produced by Wizard Studios and in January of 2020, December of 2022, and December of 2024 she assisted Hajime Kinoko's large scale Shibari Web performances in NYC and San Francisco. She's currently a resident rope educator and facilitator at NYC spaces Temple, HAVEN, and Hit Me Up, and regularly facilitates, teaches, and performs at many events and venues in NYC and beyond.

Prerequisites & Event Capacity:

• Please review the class prerequisites carefully and only register if you meet them. If we don't know you/your skills, we may ask you to send us a short video of you demonstrating a quick static suspension.
• We're limiting attendance to 10 tying pairs due to limited space. There may be room to audit as we get closer to the event.
• You must register as a tying pair (unless you're auditing).

Group Rules:

• Please review our group rules. You are required to sign our Liability Waiver and Code of Conduct Agreement your first time attending.
• Please don't attend if you're feeling ill or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 (review symptoms here).

Buying Tickets & After Party:

• We're offering 3 pricing options for this intensive: $220/tying pair, $275/tying pair, or $330/tying pair. Please choose the option that makes the most sense for you. If you have more expendable resources, please consider choosing the middle or higher tiers so that we can continue to offer the lower tier to those who need it, at this and future events.
• To avoid Forbidden Tickets's fees, select the registration-only ticket and pay an alternate way. We accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards, PayPal (@BoxTieStudio), Venmo (@boxtiestudio), and Cashapp ($ropespaced). If you pay one of these ways ahead of time (not at the door), please indicate which order it's for (the email address on your order works).
• Promo code: If you're interested in attending the August Play Party Saturday night 8/16 from 7:00 - 11:00 PM, please register for the intensive first and pay close attention to your confirmation email for a promo code for 50% off your tickets to the party!

Parking & Arrival Time:

• Doors open Saturday morning at 10:15 AM. Please try to arrive early so we can get every checked in and settled in time for class at 11. Doors will open at 10:30 on Sunday.
• When you turn onto Ingersoll Drive, the parking lot and building are the first left. We are the second-floor end unit; you'll see tall windows and skylights from outside.
• If you will be late or have trouble finding us please text Cait at (207) 558-2930.

Miscellaneous:

• No guns or other weapons are allowed on the premises.
• No smoking of anything indoors. Please step outside to smoke.
• Use of drugs and/or alcohol is not allowed. If you are suspected to be under the influence, you will be ejected from the event without a refund.
• There may be dog fur throughout the studio, although we do our best to keep it as clean as possible. If you're allergic, please take note.
• There are 3 short stairs to get into the building and a carpeted staircase inside to get upstairs to the studio. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access.
