The Double Bind: navigating gender, power, and career advancement as a female dominant

ForteFemme Continuing Ed: facilitated talk, networking, and dessert social hosted by Midori and MxBliss

Have you ever been told by a mentor or manager that you’d excel in your career if you were less confrontational or bossy? Or told you need to communicate more directly or be less emotional. As femmes and women in the workplace, we face a double bind: if we are perceived as too direct or assertive, we are seen as abrasive or too bossy to be leaders. And at the same time, if we are perceived as emotional or too accommodating, we are not seen as “leadership material.”

Join us in Portland Oregon, February 7th at 7-9pm for a ForteFemme Continuing Education Event hosted by Midori and MxBliss. MxBliss (ForteFemme class of 2018) will lead a discussion on climbing the corporate/career ladder with authenticity while embracing our identities as female dominants. Midori will also talk about ForteFemme and exploring our female dominance with joy. This event is part of the ForteFemme Continuing Education program and open to anyone exploring their female/femme power or who identify as a female dominant.

We’ll meet at a close-in NE Portland for an evening of conversation, tea, and desserts. You’ll have a chance to network and meet with other female dominant career and corporate professionals.
