Every Mardi Gras needs a Monarch! We sought to bestow this title upon an individual who has made significant contributions to our community. Cherished members of our vibrant community, We are thrilled to introduce a true monarch of benevolence and charisma – the one and only Quinn (they/them), our Mardi Gras royalty. In a realm where generosity knows no bounds, Quinn stands as a paragon of selflessness, devotion, and unwavering community spirit.

This dynamic individual has become synonymous with volunteerism, with a heart that beats in harmony with the needs of those around them. Quinn's commitment to service is not just commendable; it is extraordinary they are a beacon of support, and an embodiment of dedication.

Jiveman

Jiveman has been DJing and hosting sex positive events in the bay area for close to a decade. He has been a key figure in iconic events like Mission Control's Mardi Gras Party and is joining forces with Beyond the Rainbow to create Masked Desires as a co-host. In collaboration with Lindy by the Lake, he also co-hosts and DJs lakeside Lindy hop gatherings.

DJ Andrew

Andrew (he/him) is a lindy hopper, fusion dancer, and is looking forward to his post-pandemic return to Mission Control. He is known for playing the right music for the right crowd, and can't wait to bring that talent to a night which is sure to be full of delightful excess, merriment, and mystery.

Telind

Telind started DJing in 2010 and never looked back. In the past almost-decade, he's played international exchanges and tiny beachfront gazebos, bangin' house parties, predawn latenight sets and everything in between. Throughout it all, he's developed an ability to take a whole party on a fantastic journey, and a unique sound style that blends bass, dub, blues, funk, and pop into one seamless musical experience. Come join the party, because it's going to be amazing. <3

Swingin' into Mardi Gras Magic! Get ready to step into the world of swing dance excellence at Masked Desires! Join us for an exciting workshop led by two incredibly talented Bay Area dancers. Meet Steve Yang, a seasoned dance instructor who combines his experience in various dance styles (blues, Lindy hop and fusion) with his foundation in motion arts (kungfu, circus and acroyoga) to his teaching style. With nearly a decade of swing dance experience, Aurelia Santos is the founder of Lindy by the Lake in Oakland. She has competed and performed nationally in lindy hop, solo jazz and shag competitions.

Together, Steve and Aurelia have taught partner dance at private parties as well as bigger venues like Soulplay and the Breakaway. Their vibrant energy, and combined dance experience create a welcoming atmosphere for new learners, while fostering a vibrant and inclusive community of dancers.

Embark on a journey of sensuality and spectacle as we welcome a dynamic variety troupe of breathtaking burlesque performers, daredevil circus artists, and a myriad of unusual talents to Masked Desires. This ensemble of extraordinary artists promises to redefine the boundaries of entertainment, leaving you breathless and enchanted.

DORIAN DIETRICH (they/she)

Has delivered deliciously decadent performances to audiences around the Bay Area since their burlesque debut in 2016.

They are known for their sultry brand of singing striptease, often combining gender play with their captivating presence. In 2019, they debuted Wunderkammer Kabarett, a series of variety shows highlighting the dark, peculiar, and bizarre side of live entertainment. Along with Joanna Animal and Cha Cha, Dorian helps curate Smoke and Mirrors Menagerie, a truly exquisite variety show experience featuring circus, aerials, music, and burlesque. In 2022, they introduced a new show, Silhouette — the only one of its kind in Redwood City, CA — at The Hub RWC.

A regular feature with San Francisco’s Hubba Hubba Revue, Dark Events, and shows across the Bay Area, Dorian has sung and stripped their way across the United States and Europe. Past appearances include festivals and shows in Los Angeles, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Tucson, and Portland, as well as Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Taormina, and Panama City.

Dorian is available to sing, striptease, and emcee (sometimes all at the same time).

CHA CHA (she/her)

Is a Bay Area native in a hula hoop. She is an over a decade long hula hooper who found herself falling in love with burlesque.

She is one of the co-producers of Smoke and Mirrors Menagerie and is no stranger to the Hubba Hubba Revue stage in San Francisco.

JOANNA ANIMAL (they/them)

Is actually three sexy raccoons in a burlesque costume.

When not performing burlesque, they are a professional aerialist, pole performer and circus instructor in San Francisco. They are one of the founders of Smoke and Mirrors Menagerie and a regular at San Francisco’s world famous Hubba Hubba Revue, as well as a member of Bow & Arrow Circus Collective.

🖌️🎨 DIY Body-Art Station: Join the creative revelry at Masked Desires! Our DIY Body Paint Area awaits with body crayons and jewels. Express yourself in the festive colors, adorn yourself in the rich hues of purple, green, and gold. Whether you choose to embody the elegance of a masquerade ball or express your playful side with lively patterns, let your body become a canvas of Mardi Gras magic!

🎭 Mask Decorating Station: Unleash Your Creativity! 🎨 Join us for a hands-on experience! We provide blank masks, markers, and jewels—everything you need to craft your own Mardi Gras mask-erpiece. Express your unique style, add a touch of sparkle, and make your mask a dazzling reflection of your desires.

📷Photo Booth: Most of the space is camera free so people can play and not worry about anyone recording. We have created a special spot for those of you that want to be in the limelight. There will be a designated photo booth in the front of the building.

Special Guest Vendor: Stingy Thuddy is an artisan studio run by Mission Control member, Fuzzy. Specializing in leather and wood, Fuzzy makes and sells kinky gear for horny people. Dress Code

Welcome to an unforgettable night of sensuality, celebration, and exploration. Our dress code is designed to embrace the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras! Immerse yourself in the festive colors of Mardi Gras—purple, green, and gold. Adorn yourself with opulent masks that add an air of mystery to your attire. Combine the sophistication of formal attire with the allure of fetish fashion. Indulge in the provocative allure of burlesque and lingerie. So many options, whatever you wear you are encouraged to add a dazzling Mardi Gras touch to your presence. And most importantly we celebrate all body types, genders, and personal expressions, creating a safe space where you can feel comfortable in your own skin. We will have a coat check so if you want to change upon arrival you can.

Bar and Snacks

We do not sell nor serve alcohol. You are welcome to BYOB. Please drop off your bottles at the bar where a designated person will label and bottle-sit your bottles. When you want a drink, head back to your stored bottle, you must pour your own drinks (as per regulations), and return the bottle. Ice and a few mixers will be available, feel free to bring more. Kindly consume alcohol in a responsible manner and remember to bring your beverages with you when departing for the evening. In general we want to make sure that everyone is present and able to give consent - please stay in your body and be able to function at all times. We will supply a few snacks and highly encourage you to bring a snack to add to the snack table. After so much play we will want some snacks!

Masked Desires has spaces for everyone. We have a variety of immersive themed activities to create connection. Sex and kink is welcome everywhere and we have specific spaces that are centering specific concepts. Our Fungeon focuses on impact play, bondage, and other kinks (no blood, scat, breath, or fire play). The Cottage is designed for sexy play time. The main circle space is designed for dancing and the bar area is designed for socialization.

We regret to inform you that this venue space is not fully wheelchair-friendly. While the first floor is accessible, there are stairs leading to other areas of the venue, which may pose a challenge for individuals with mobility impairments. JessJess (she/her) has been organizing and hosting a variety of events in the Bay Area for close to a decade. She has a strong belief in the power of connection, she thrives on fostering engagement, encouraging dialogue, and creating a welcoming inclusive atmosphere that brings people together. She runs Beyond the Rainbow Events! Beyond that role she is Bonobo Network’s Community Manager, one of the largest sex + communities rooted in real-world and virtual events where people learn together – and from one another. You can also find her as a regular host and house manager at Mission Control hosting events such as Peek, Kinky Karaoke, Threshold and Pink. An event lead in forLove, a community of pleasure activists, technologists, and erotic experience architects, dedicated to safely and equitably spreading sex-positive culture. These are just some of the communities JessJess works with, she is committed to creating spaces where everyone can feel valued, respected, and appreciated.
